My truck is sick, i need some advice....
Last week i lost my glacier lift pump and as a result my truck started surging and missing and the two codes that it threw were 0148 rail pressure, and 0251 cp3 regulater. Thinking i toasted my cp3 i replaced both the lift pump and the cp3 with a new one and sent my original cp3 off to floor-it for there stage 2. Any way on the way to work today the same 2 codes came back, truck runs like crap and the lift pump is for sure working. I am not sure where to turn besides stripping my goodies off and heading to the dealer. Anyone have some ideas? Thanks Mark
We used the old fca , the lift pump comes on and i can feel fuel moving down the line i am assuming being 3 days old that it works. Before anything i changed the fuel filter to see if it was something easy. I think its some electrical glitch i have a hard time believing that 2 cp3s in a row have gone bad.

John does work to the FCA I went to his shop while he did my stage 2 and when he reinstalled the CP3 it hit full rail pressure at idle. He messed with the FCA till it came down to normal operating pressure and we went for a ride to watch the pressures. a FEW, not all trucks he said react different to the modded FCA. You need to get a DRB or rail pressure gauge and check it out.
you calmly said you replaced the cp3, dealer said 4600.00 [i said no a inj. pump not a used truck or new engine] my question is why change the whole pump with all the talk of the fca being bad?
I assumed having driven around without a lift pump for a few days that i toasted my cp3. It was the glacier lift pump that i had installed in my truck that went bad, and it still seems fishy that the lift pump dies and now the fca goes bad at the same time. Anyway i am going to put a new one on this afternoon and see how it goes. I unhooked the edge ez yesterday and the truck ran fine for about 50 miles and then the same **** codes came back. The fca will go on the truck this afternoon and i will report back. John at floor it said that late 06s and 07s have some funny things happen that are hard to explain and diagnose. We will see.
ok , man thats not good, i hope you can replace the fca now and be back to normal, bad lift pumps have cost people a lot of money since 1999, wouldnt be cool if dodge recogized this problem and started putting a simple fuel press. guage from the factory even an idiot light, just the thought from dodge would be neet. dont make sense to me, they started using the wrong style pump in 99 and knew it but cont. till 05, it must have cost them a fortune. i do think this in tank is a lot better pump if dodge or truck owners would all install a 0-15 guage and once in a while check, but even better go back to the mech. pumps and still a guage. dont hear this same prob. from the 12 valve guys, and it runs off the eng. needs of rpm, wonder why they changed, just a thought.
Replaced the fca, not abit of differance. Runs like crap and still throwing codes. How could a lift pump failure cause so much trouble esp. after replacing the cp3. Rail pressure guage is next i guess. Man i love fiddledickin like this
