need help trucks sick

i was crusing up the interstate this morning and slowed down went to hit the fuel again and there was just no ***** in it. I looked in the mirror and the truck was just billowing black smoke everywhere (looked cool but this truck doesnt smoke) and there was no power. i got off the interstate and the truck wouldnt get over 20 mph unless going down hill and just pouring so much smoke i couldnt see the road. boost was 0, egt's hit 1600, fuel psi gauge is disconnected right now and water temp started to get high. the exhaust sounds like the pac brake is closed off(it has been broke for months now) but even if it did decide to shut off some how thats not gonna cause the smoke and no power i dont think. any help please.

If the exhaust brake is broke closed, it'll keep your turbo from making boost...starve for air. Meanwhile you're asking for power so your injector pump is giving more squirt. Lots of fuel and no air is smokey.
You might try disconnecting the air inlet tube from your aircleaner to your turbo and see how that runs in case a rat or a bird got in your air cleaner housing and is blocking the inlet air.

With the engine off, does the turbo spin freely? If so, yer brake is blocking. If not, it's time to remove the turbo and see what's got it stuck.

Have you tried to spin it by hand or checked the play in it.

If you don't think its the pac I would take it off and check it out, you can get a rebuild kit for it or you might want to get a new one but it sounds like a bad bearing. while you got it off might want to make sure the oil line running to it is not stopped up.

Looks like your turbo bearings are trying to coke (scorched oil in the process of turning solid) up from the heat. Changing the bearings now before any shaft damage should save you money in the long run....or upgrade while it's off.

as long as there is no in and out play and you can't make the comp. wheel contact the housing you're fine with a rebuild kit.
