I have the Magnaflow, have had compliments and questions as to its make at get togethers, I have not listened to a MBPR on a diesel but if they are near as race sounding as their gasser line then I would have to say find clips with both systems or find people with each and have a drive by listen, I know they sound way different outside than inside... inside is very misleading.

well I am sure if you get the 304 stainless quality wise they are both the same. I would search for soundclips or trucks with the exhaust on them. exhaust is very subjective. I know when it comes to gas engines magnaflow sound sucks IMO. I have owned them and other mufflers just sound better IMO. Have not heard magnaflow in person on a diesel yet.
magnaflow price and quality are great though so if you like the sound go for it I just don't like thier sound as much as others. I let the price suck me in on my camaro and regreted it.
Reality with exhaust is everbody likes what they like. I am sure someone out there loves magnaflow. on my IROC borla sounded 100% better to me than magnaflow. Same on my mustang. those are v8's though striat 6 diesel maybe magnaflow sounds okay. I have not heard the borla on a diesel either.

Installed a MBRP on my Dad's Superduty and a Magnaflow on my buddy's Superduty. The quality of workmanship is much better on the MBRP. The clamps are much better also. The Magnaflow I couldn't get the clamps tight enough to keep the joints from flexing so I ended up tack welding the pipes together.

Juiced01z06,
Do yourself a favor and just get our MBRP performance replacement muffler, you already have 4 inch pipes from the factory that are decently bent etc. The MBRP muffler bolts in place of the stock muffler and even has the welded hangers on it to reuse the stock rubber mounts. Straight thru performance without the drone and an easy install that saves you money for other mods later. Call us if you have any questions etc.

i have to dissagree with you on the sound of magnaflows on gassers...i had a them on my cobra and it had an awesome deap powerful sound....but then again thats probably because my car had true duals instead of the fake duals that camaros have
also had a magnaflow system on my psd...sounded great...quit inside and powerful outside.
wish i would have bought the magnaflow for my 05' ctd...bought the bullydog instead...too loud in the cab(drone)

that is why I am a huge fan of finding a clip of the sound as it is so subjective. Like many people love just a loud exhaust where I am more of a loud is not always better kind of person. I have heard a truck like mine with not cat and a stait pipe and it was too much for me. where someone esle is proably would still like it louder.
I just hate it when I spend money and am not happy. that happened to me on my camaro with magnaflow. it had nothing to do with the quality though it just did not suit my taste.
