i am starting to understand this whole computerized junk better know, anyway, so the outlook monitor is really not good for anything other than reading the egt's, i mean i know you turn your downloader into a on the fly sdjustability is there anyway to bypass so you can get true boost readings or is ther a pod out there that has a place for the outlook and one or 2 above it for manual gauges, or should i get rid of the crazy larry and go with something else i am real happy with the bd td crazy larry, any info would be appreciated.

The Commander will read correctly. The Attitude will read correctly as long as it is not stacked with anything else. Then it will depend on what you stack it with and what order you connect the MAP sensor plugs.

The Boost Fooler will help quite a bit with the Flashpaq. Instead of spiking the boost gauge you will be able to hold boost steady up to around 44-45psi from what we have seen. Now if you run on a lower setting the boost may be slightly lower.

The problem with the Outlook is that it reads OBD2 data and not real data. I mean OBD2 data is real but it is also slow and not always accurate. It also gets fooled anytime you mess with something on the truck as all OBD2 engine data comes from the ECM.

Ok, now I understand. So the Commander and Attitude will read the CORRECT boost levels as long as they are NOT stacked.

BUT...

The ECM will be reading/thinking that the boost is only 30psi, while the Commander or Attitude display is showing the TRUE reading of 35psi on the MONITOR display, due to the appropriate box having BOOST FOOLING.

So if the DC tech puts the ECM on the scan tool it will show max boost at 30psi. While in reality, it hit 35psi, which the Commander or Attitude displayed on their monitors because they RECORD and SHOW the TRUE boost #s. But the ECM never RECORDS or SHOWS those #s because it is being "fooled".

AM I CORRECT???

so if you use the boost fooler, the computer will register that boost psi? so if the dealer goes poking through the computer they wont be able to see the over stock boosting from the use of a programmer? is that right? thanks for the help. just trying to find ways to keep my warranty intact as much as possible

Pet05, you sort of have it.

The Commander will always read the correct boost level as you have the option to get the reading from wherever you want. IF you decide to stack something you can then change where the Commander picks up the signal.

The attitude will be right as long as you always plug the Juice into the MAP sensor first. If you stack say an MP8 and it goes in first the attitude will not read correctly.

Anytime a box is doing boost fooling like all boxes that I know of do then the ECM will never see the actual boost.

Bretteaton,

That is correct if you put a boost fooler or a module that fools boost and then you make 100psi the factory ECM will still only record the fooled number.

That is the beauty of a module versus a downloader. There is no way to stop the ECM from seeing actual boost spike when a downloader is installed. That is why I made a boost fooler. Pretty much if you have a downloader you need a boost fooler. Yes the truck operates fine without it but, it might be the best and cheapest mod you ever do if it saves you any warranty grief.
