Injector pump and #5 injector dillema
Injector pump and #5 injector dillema
I have my 04 dodge 3500 dually 2wd at my local dodge dealer to check for rough idle after diagnosis i was told the injector pump at $1200 and the #5 injector needed to be replaced, the injector at $510 for a rebuilt unit they werent sure about the other injectors my question is after reviewing aftermarket injectors for instance bully dog's at $720 for a set of six would be a practical way to go. I put alot of towing miles on the vehicle and tow for a living, right now the odometer is at 178k. The truck is completely stock with the exception of a fram washable air filter.
P.S i am looking into a quadzilla commander monitor and adj module also possibly running a straight pipe exhaust without cat any advice on either of these situations would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Your info doesn't show where you reside but I'd look for a Cummins shop that has a friendly 5.9 tech. Maybe there are other DTR member that are knowledgeable in your area? I don't doubt that you have a bad injector and given your mileage the other are probably weak. I doubt the injection pump (really CP3) is causing your rough idle, if you've kept good fuel and filters/change the CP3 seem to last. The relief valve on the rail maybe weak, but any good tech can check that in minutes. Is your engine a 305/555 or a 325/600?
