Injector install and VE pump Adj-new to site and 1st gen Cummins!

Howdy All!
New to Site and Cummins as the teaser said! Love it so far, and you dont have to subcribe to a mag! haha....anyway, i am working on my friends 1st gen Cummins and have yet to do any injector install of any kind on this motor. I have heard several people tell me its no big deal but they did not disclose any, or enough info to make me happy! SO i am turing to people that actually own these beasts to get first hand tech info on what to expect and hidden probs i might find. Need to know if i need to take any valves rockers off, home made injector pullers, etc. ALSO with the injectors, i need to know how to adjust the pump to further the cause (OK...make it blow tons of black gold! ;D). This VE thing is WAY different then any creature i have seen before. I have done LOTS of T-plates on post '94's. I have found several articles on the pump but none really come right out and tell you what works best. I know, I know! Depends on my situation and how the truck is set up 'cuz "all diesels run different"! BUT i would bet that you could just tweak one thing on the pump to get better git-go rather than tring to launch the Space Shuttle with your TV remote! AND i also know that i am not the first to ask these questions, so be nice!!! ;D This is how we all learn! Future thanks for all the help!..........since i am on your good side now..... ;D......maybe someone out there tell me how adj the timing! My light aint working! I just dont want to look like a monkey on a football if you catch my drift! Thanks!

All the planed mods for next Tues!!!-- Exhaust, Bully Dog Injectors, Stage II compressor housing and wheel upgrade, TNTCBSABCTLCBBCPBSK&N high flow air filter

Turn the AFC eccentirc so that the pin rides in the deepest part . . .

Best bang for the buck (assuming labor is free).
