I just bought a Super-B, any install tips/info?
Hey guys. I finally pulled the trigger on stage 1 of my twins project. I've decided I'm going to do twins, with the super b on top and not sure yet for a bottom turbo, possibly a b2. In any case, I am not going to do the full twins till maybe the spring or so, and figured in the meantime, I might as well ditch my 23psi stocker in favor of the super-b while I wait. So I'm just curious if you guys that have them have had any specific install issues, tips, or any other relevant info. I have the mbrp 4" exhaust system and a 305/555 early 04 truck.
Are you guys liking them that run them as singles?
Thanks in advance.

Dodgezilla, it just arrived today via ups. I don't think there is going to be time to install it until next week or weekend at least..I'm going out of town this weekend. It's a bummer to have to wait but at least it's finally here..
Is it supposed to be a direct bolt on? I was toying with the idea of getting a new truck but mine's been such a good truck that I decided to probably keep it and if I do I'm going to reward it with a new turbo possibly. If I get one though, I want one that comes with everything I need to install it. I don't want to have to drive around looking for misc parts. I'll wait to see how you like yours or if anybody else has any input.
And I thought I was done with this truck.........

The only hard part was the oil return line, a little tight but not too bad, overall it wasn't hard just time consuming. You gotta have a buddy help thats my only advice. If you have any other q's I'll be more than happy to help
Dodgezilla - According to the people I've spoken with, our stock 305/555 turbo is only really efficient to about 25psi, the super-b is efficient to 45psi supposedly, and spool up reported to be close to as quick as stock. They also seem to be incredibly tough, with lots of guys abusing them and they are still holding up. Seeing that you have the banks exhaust which I believe has a true 4" downpipe (changes the stock elbow to a 4 outlet?), the turbo literally should be a bolt on for you. It should bolt on for me as well, the only consideration is the 4" outlet of the turbo will not mate with the 3.5" flange on my mbrp downpipe, or a stock exhaust. Therefore a thin 4 to 3.5" reducer is included in the kit, that pushes the exhaust system back about an inch. I'm not that happy about this - as the 2nd gen kit came with a downpipe, but we'll see how it goes. I know several people that have used this without problems, or slight exhaust mods/adjustments.
Hohn/sparky - I think the price could have been a tad lower, however when I got it, the site was having a sitewide 10% or so off, and free shipping...plus no sales tax...so it worked out to be what I thought was a great deal. They still have it for $1183 I believe now, which is quite a bit cheaper than any of the other sites I've seen it on. Most of them are $1300+, maybe jeg's or jcwhitney is a bit cheaper. Either way it was drop shipped from BD, it's the identical kit as anyone else is selling, so I am happy.

I have really enjoyed my Super B. I have had it for almost a year now and I have not had any problems with it. The only issue I had when installing was soon cleared up by the good folks at BD. The issues I had were the bottom oil drain and how far the drive portion sat from the stock turbo. I had to ditch the the stock elbow and BD sent me a down pipe to fit into my exhaust system.
It would have been nice to have some one to help out, but I managed to install it myself. Not a bad job at all. I can hit 41 PSI and sustain 39-40 at WOT. I went the same way thinking about twins and getting the Super B first. Since then my vendor no longer is in business, now I have to find a good deal on the twins upgrade.
I have pictures in my gallery of the install and the two problems I encountered. overall it was a good mod, plus the price you got was a great deal. I paid 200 more for it then the price mentioned delivered to my door. This was a year ago and the prices have gone down. Good luck and as others have said, if you have any questions send a PM. I am quick to answer.
