HTT SS62 with 65 exhaust wheel...got one?
My brother just ordered a SS62 from HT & they recommended the 65mm turbine wheel. The truck is a 04.5 with a NV5600, Triple Dog, EZ stack, MBRP stainless duals, AFE stage 2 pro gaurd. They claim the 65 wheel is working better than a 71 series on the 3rd gen trucks. Got one? How do you like it? Any feedback is great.
PS....New Southbend 3250DD is coming next incase you were wondering.

I do not have one...yet, but that is what Dave recommended to me at HTT. He seemed to feel that unless you have added pressure in addition to higher fueling and more timing, the 71mm turbine wheel is too big and too slow to boost.

I thought the hole purpose for the ss was to eliminate turbo lag . If they are having turbo lag issues with a 62 mm charger then the ss is not doing what was made for. Just my 2 cents.

HT told me that the 65 wheel with the 13SS housing will have lower egts on a 3rd gen truck with a box. HT only recommends the 71 series for 3rd gens with injectors & box. Remember....I am talking about a truck that spends 90% of its life with a trailer hooked to it.

Well, I just had my HTT 62/65/13ss installed and have not had any issues. Spooling the turbo has not been a problem. I did have an ATS exhaust manifold installed at the same time. In fact, the turbo is even better after about 200 miles of driving. I知 running about 8psi at 80mph and the egt痴 hover at 650-700ish. I知 running my Smarty on level 5 with the moderate TQ aftermarket turbo program and the power is great. Once the turbo hits approx. 15psi it literally takes off, pulls very hard. Overall, I知 very happy, no complaints. Also, I've hit 42psi on the turbo.
