How good is the BD Super-B Turbo???

I was wondering if this is a good upgrade turbo and if it would support 500HP? Ease of install? If there are cheper, better alternatives let me know. I'm just throwing around some wishfull mods now that it's tax rebate time. I'm thinking of selling the BDPP, sending in the Juice for the "HOT" upgrade, then getting Stage1 injectors. Would this give me 475-500hp? Hence the reason I'd be in the market for a new turbo.

Its a very good and durable turbo, but I think you might do better with something a little larger if you want to run the hot setting with injectors. I got mine to use in a set of twins, but if you're doing just a single, maybe a sps66 or something.. good luck!

I'm running an II PS62/12 with a HOT Juice. Temps stay below 1200. Add a set of sticks to the HOT Juice and you'll probably need a 62/14. Preferrably the new SPS62/14.

Heck, I have a PS 62/14 and can bury 1600 in a heartbeat.

Running the Twins program I don't doubt that. Have you asked Brett or Shane if the SPS14 housing would help at all?

BigBlue - not sure what's up with your buddy's setup - but mine cools a lot better than that. Is he putting out 45psi sustained? I think most people underestimate the super b honestly - and bd's horsepower levels are pretty conservative for what they will handle. With all else exactly the same, I reduced EGT's by about about 250 degrees with the Super b as a point of reference..

I just had my truck dynoed at DDP before i got their new injectors. As you can see i do not run any kind of programmer or box just Super B, 311 hp 568 torque. I think very respectable numbers for a stock fueled 05 truck. They normally see 265 to 270 on stock trucks. After injectors I was at 360 and climbing until a strap broke on the Dyno and had to abort.

Sell it to me I'll buy it . Seriusly, besides the Super B, What other brands are close performane/price wise? Is there an upgraded stock turbo on an exchange basis that is a direct bolt in? One good thing about the Super B, is the ability to easily run duals if you ever want. I never intend to, but that is what I said about my current setup . The main reson I'm looking for a turbo, is to bring down my egt's which last night durring a 1/4 mile run got to 1540* for a split second. That was the only! time they have even got past 1100*. I've also thought about going to water meth, cause I rarely drag, and the only time I would spray it is at the strip when the temp gets to say 1300* and I would use a 75/25 water/meth blend more for cooling than extra power. Wha do you guys think?
