I got the Sylvania Silverstar ultra bulbs for my 05 a couple of weeks ago from checker. I replaced both the headlight bulbs and the fog light bulbs at the same time and it was a major inprovment over stock I think they were somewhere around $35 a pair. you may get a better price online but I didn't want to wait.

I second the vote for Silverstars. I have had them for almost a year and the lighting is 100x better than stock. I bought mine at Pep Boys for around $40 per pair.

I dont know I'd go as far as saying there 100x better then stock.

Heck my HID's are barley twice as better as stock.

I vowed after I wasted my $$$ twice on aftermarket replacement bulbs I'd never do it again.

The only thing they did was whiten the light a little bit and maybe, maybe 20% improvement over stock but no where near 100x better then stock like you mentioned.

Sorry I had to step in, I just cant let other's get away with statments like that.

Not much improvement over stock. Especially when one goes out. Then you have mismatched lights all the way home. Of course I could only find blister packs of two. So....First set of SStars...$40........Second set of SStars to replace one blown...$40.....Being glad I kept the originals...well, you know.

I tried them for awile too. Maybe a little whiter, certainly I could see farther.
Mine only lasted about 18 months before burning out, they definately seem to have a short life. Dim headlights are probably the biggest complaint I have with my truck, especially compared to my wife's Ford Explorer.

you can also try hella bulbs. They make them in higher wattage. They are also quite a bit cheaper than the silverstars or piaas.

They come in 80/100 for the 9007 lamp, under 15 bucks

Thumbs up Why not trucks?

I can tell you I really miss my '02 3500. I changed it over to the sport lights w/four bulbs. Highs and lows burned at the same time. Those were nice. Wife's Pacifica does that also, all four glowing on high.

i had the sylvania's on a previous ctd and they did make a difference but burned out real quick. you can buy single bulb replacrments so you don't have to buy a new pair every time one burns out.

Has anyone tried running higher wattage bulbs in the stock headlight asemblies? I use to run them in previous vehicles with glass covered headlights, but I've always heard that the plastic lamps could overhead and discolor or melt due to the increased heat.

Anyone with any experience in the Dodge, and if so, what wattage bulbs did you use?
