new head lights and fog lights?
its getting to be fog season here so i need some lighting help, my lights are so dim i run my brights almost all the time, now were getting fog so dence that u cant hardly see past the hood. the stock fog lamps just arnt doing anything, and yes i turn my brights off when i drive in the fog. i dont want to spend a ton of money but i need both problems fixed. iv seen some projection fog lamps that looked good but im realy not sure what i should be looking for. as for head lamps iv looked at HIDs, PIAAs, and projections. what houseings? is silver star ultras ok with the right houseing?

Headlight
I don't know if this will help or not but as far as your headlights go mine were in terrible shape and I used the 3M headlight restore from Advance Auto and it did wonders. Follow the directions and put the clearcoat on and it works great. I don't know if this helps your situation but if your lights burn and the plastic is foggy it will make them almost new. It also works on your foglights. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Headlight-Lens-Restoration-System-3M_7100089-P_N3312Y_T|GRP2074____

I have after market headlights, 10x better than stock, but still not great in wet/dark nights.
I went to a local Princess Auto store (surplus store) and bought some cheap 4 1/2 inch 100W and 50 watt fog/spot lights I wired them up to the old style floor switch, like they used to have in the old 76 chev trucks, The 4$ each 50watts are on with the low beams (I can turn them off) they are aimed fairly well and I dont get flashed by oncoming vehs. light improvement in low beam is night and day, for high beam the 100w's make night into day and I bet they light up the hi-way for 3/4 of a kilometer, for back up I added two 6inch 100W that I can turn on if needed. so for a grand total of 22$ I have lights!! the extra 6inches cost another 14$

go with the HIDs well worth the $$$ BUT for the fogs make sure you get the 3000K HIDs as they are yellow in color they will cut through the fog better then a higher K value.
my bad I ment 3000k is yellow thanks 1882

Actually 4300 is about the closest to pure white you can get, after (higher) than that they just look blueish purple. If you want yellow, you gotta go lower than 4300
