the edge is a 58/65 non wastegated ceramic ball bearing turbo with a 5 inch exhaust outlet. i dont think i will do the swap now i thought the he351 had a larger exhaust and wastegate. i dont want to have to mess with a bigger wastegate. unless is a cheap fix for a 12 or 14 cm intake.

The stock HE351 wastegate is large enough to control 500 hp worth of fuel. Play with a dremel or die grinder and it will control 650-700 hp worth of fuel.

I've never ran the Edge BB, but I don't think I'd mess with the 351 swap if I was running the Edge BB and not having reliability issues with it.

Alright Big Blue you got me! What do I need to do with a dremel to make the HE351 even better?

It is the brass elbow shown installed in the compressor housing & used to supply boost to the wastegate. It is also needed to adjust boost to the desired level.

okay I think im tracking what it is now it's the one that the rubber hose connects to? and now that I have an Idea what it looks like, I am guessing that it has a set screw or something similar to adjust the pressure at which the wastegate activates at?

I plan on doing this when I put my custom exhaust on. I'm not buying any of the extra parts as I have a simple duration box on the low setting and I doubt I would ever be pushing the limits of the turbo since there are no real mountains around here. I'm gonna put a clamp on the silicone wastegate hose and, if I need adjustability, I will loosen the clamp a bit. Instant boost elbow without drilling.....

So, has anybody tried some kind of brass T-fitting installed in the silicone hose to control the wastegate? I'm sure there is something at the NAPA store that could work for this. I think that's what I'm gonna try...

Hmmm, since I still have a full warranty on my truck I wonder how Dodge would handle a warranty claim when my truck has been upgraded with factory Dodge turbo and exhaust parts.......

I have an 06 turbo on mine. Got dissapointed with limited boost. Took my boost ELBOW off, zipped tied the waste gate hose. Now I see 35PSI under full boost. Yes you can put a fitting for the 90 deg elbow that is adjustable. Its not going to give you what you need or want...

Personally I'm not looking for some magical boost in power. All I'm trying to do is build a truck that will tow my trailer with no problems. Adding this turbo seems like a cheap and easy way to push a bit more air and lower my EGTs which are probably not too high anyways. It stands to reason that with a bit of extra fueling that there would be a performance gain even if it's just a slight one. That's just icing on the cake...

No magical boost number with me. Just trying to get the best performance I can, since I dont tow..that turbo will do you great for a cheap factory upgrade..
