HE351 Turbo Swap info...
Okay finished my turbo swap. All seams to be working great. My home made ats plug with adj. boost elbow mounted in the plug seems to be working fine.,seeing 33 to35 lb. boost at full trottle short runs with x2 set on 100 hp. and boost elbow all the way in. Have not been able to pull the 5ver yet to check egt 's will do that this weekend. The 351 seems to have a differant sound at low boost, anyone else notice this?
I did mine last weekend. The studs on the exhaust manifold were too short so I had to back them out until they were flush with the flange. (They were about 1/4" past the flange stock) Other than that and the pain in getting the nuts off the stock turbo, mine went fairly easy. Only took me 5 hours.....
Nate - yes that is the one.
I just picked up an HE351, but I didn't get any mounting studs with it. Should I just get two of the longer studs or would it be better to get all four?
Does anyone have part numbers for these?

Don't know the part number for the studs but you can just use your stock 341 studs and back them out like I did. Just back em out until the backside is flush instead of sticking way out. You can also just use the extra nuts that Dodge uses to hold that heat shield onto the front side of the exhaust manifold. It will be fine with just one or two nuts holding it on.
Are you guys tapping the hole for the boost elbow to the left of the solenoid hole? That seems like it would be the best place. At least in terms of getting the metal shavings out. I 'd really hate to mess this hole up like I did w/ my exhaust manifold pyro.

I tried calling ATS, which btw. They can rot in purgatory for all I care. Talk about crappy customer service. I called to ask about the plug and was told flat out it doesn't exist, and the guy wouldn't lend me the time of day to try and look for it. Is it ok to use the solenoid, and leave it unplugged?

Thanks,
I have been looking for these numbers.

Great info in this thread, guys! It has convinced me to pull the trigger on a low mile 351, and go for it. Seems like the perfect mod for my modest power level (intake, exh., smarty jr.), especially when it has 100K less miles on it to boot!
