Got bit, first costly problem

Wow, I can't believe I had 2 injectors go bad on me after everything i've done, Fuel Additive, Changing filters frequently, filled up at PACIFIC PRIDE with filters. Wish I had the Glacier 2 Micron on from day one, only been on for 9000 miles truck has 38,000. The problem came to rise, more noticable, when I swapped out 50hp injectors for 90. Truck idled great but was shaking between 1800rpm-2000rpm. Failed a contribution test on cylinders 1 and 4 (83% and 88%). Put in 2 Reman injectors last night, SHAKES are GONE. If you have a new truck, get a 2 micron on now! People make fun of me about how **** i am taking care of my truck, obviously it didn't pay off. No more to Baldwin fuel and oil filters, their micron rating sucks. I'll pay the extra for Fleetguard.

Did you get any fuel in oil? If they didn't crack or a tip didn't come off, what exactly goes bad on them?

Sorry to hear btw

contamination inside the injector body, check ball especially. No cracks or fuel in oil.

From what I've been hearing from tech's is the check ball go's out. From the way they make it sound it's not a matter of if but when.

go to cummins filtration.com and there is a cummins filter chart just for dodge trucks depending on year, but also note that every time you replace the filter you risk contamination, fuel filters are not to be replaced at mileage intervals as car manufacturers lead you to belive but are to be replaced at specified
levels of restriction, i'm just starting to look into proper test locations and specs as i just got my 06 cummins, by the way baldwins do not meet ceco
specs at all look into it in the fleetgaurd website.

Update! Pulled apart both injectors at Dynomite today. They were CLEAN, barely dirty. We don't know now?

As Justin said - FOD isn't the only danger to injector tips.

What kind of rail pressure are you seeing?
