fuel pressure / rail pressure
Im looking to get a rail pressure and fuel pressure. I have auto meter ultra lite boost/tranny/pyro but i dont want to buy 2 more guages. I was looking to at the quadzilla cause its one unit that does bith but ive read alot of bad stuff on here. I have a tapped 90 deg fitting at the cp3 to mount it. I just installed my airdog and want to see the fp. Please let me know what you guys think.

You have gone this far just go ahead and get the guages. I would start with the fuel pressure and then add the rail pressure at a later date. I'm not a fan of the digital guages but I believe the quad has improved and may have fixed their problems.

The gauge you are looking at has been discontinued.
We do have a newer version that will be out shortly. It addresses the issue with the fuel pressure sending units we used to use. The new ones use the new transducer we have out for all of the Adrenaline modules.

Hey Quad
Using a commander and x2, anyway fp never really worked, thought it was the lp, but turns out to be the sender and/or commander.
Sent an email and told it would be $45.
What's the deal with that?
My complaint is if it never worked properly why do I have to pay to upgrade?
Sorry for the hijack, and I do like the x2 and commander, just the fp thing bugs me.

First option is that we will gladly replace your original sending unit. Most likely the new one will go right in and you won't have any issues.
The $45 is for something totally new and different. In reality the $45 is only for the customers that had a fuel pressure kit to start with that had troubles. I am basically selling the hardware and stuff for a loss, just not a total loss. The new transducers are really expensive but, they work really well and do not fail. Actually I have not had any fail.
So that is what it is all about. You can get a free warranty replacement by calling tech support. They just assume now days most people want the transducer because it is superior.

Quad...any idea on timing?
We have the protos working and the first real short production run for testing is due in 3 weeks I believe.

It is actually a powered transducer, much like your factory rail pressure sensor. You have to power it and supply ground for it to work.
They read pressure in a whole different way than a resistive pressure sensor like most people use. Those use pressure to drive a "needle" inside the sending unit and we read the resistance as it moves.
They are ridiculously $$$$$ but, hey if that is what it takes to live on a Cummins, that is what it takes. I know in all my dealings with the original style pressure transducers I talked to Autometer, Dipricol, and a ton of other manufacturers and they all pretty much tell me they have hell too. The Cummins or the pump or something just flat out kills them? So that is when we had Texas Instruments build us a transducer. That was super cheap if you can imagine.
That old sensor is actually a pressure sensor used in seismograph vehicle. Those thing pound and vibrate like crazy but, evidentally the frequency or something gets to some of them??? Wished I had the answer, it would have saved my hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Well, the test units are fine with no issues and I am holding the first run of one side of the new cable assembly. Once we get the other part of the harness we will be in business!
