I have an Autometer Phantom EGT gauge hooked up pre-turbo. In the past few weeks it has been behaving very erratically. Sometimes it's stuck on 100 deg.F, other times the needle will jump around at lightning speed and then it will miraculously start working normal for a while.
I've checked the wiring and there seems to be no short or loose connection. Is there a way to test if it's the gauge itself or the probe acting up?

I had this with mine, I redid the connection between the probe and line into the truck and it's been fine ever since. It looked ok when I took it apart but for some reason something was wrong.

 

Yea what he said.Mine did it too.Take your cable apart where it connects to the probe clean it with sand paper put it back togeather and keep on truckin.
