2004 0r 2004.5 and 385,000 miles

ok bought a 04 dodge ram 3500 4x4 back in sept it has 385,000 miles on it and runs great the door tag says it was made in feb of 04 so is it 04 or a 04.5 and now i want to make 500 -600 hp and still be a dialy driver with thsi many miles on it can it tak it or not the tranny i think is stock but shifts great and no slipping and i havent had any problems but had to replace the water pump so what do i need to do to make that kind of hp and also can someone give me some info on rail pressure good and bad things i have just always had a vp44 truck so new to the cr motor thanks mike

Look at the left side of the valve cover if it says 305HP then its a 04 if it says 325HP then its a 04.5

high mile

yea thanks i cant believe its still goin i had a 01 with 200k and still runing strong so would it be a good idea to try to make 500-600hp with this many mile if so what would be the best set up??thanks mike

Also, anything that was built after jan 1, 2004 was the 04.5s.

Smarty TNT, 100 hp injectors, 64mm turbo, MP-8, lift pump..... then tranny to hold it.

10-4 ok well what about the cp3 pump will i need to do any upgrades to it??

If you are looking at low to mid 500s, no. 600s, yes.
