What a great site and tons of info. I Have been lurking around here for a couple of months. I have a Chevy POS 6.5. Gotta trade and looking at something that will actually pull and give me years of good service. I have found a early 2004 Quad two wheel drive with 110,000 miles. The body looks pretty good, a few scratches and dings but over all looks pretty good. It's the HO six speed SLT package. I'm sure the cummins is fine, but what about the rest of the truck. This guy drives about 50 miles one way to work and pulls a goat trailer every now and then. I can get this for $15,000. Is this wise and a good price? Miles are ok, right??? Can you guys give any good info. Thanks.

 

Without 4WD NADA list the truck at 25000 trade-in value.... If there is nothng wrong with it I would say it is a good price..... and 110k miles is just getting broke in...

 

After lots of reading, and looking around it seems the u joints will need to be replaced, and of course all the fluids, and maybe the brakes. What is the typical cost of this and can most shops do this?
