Edge EZ and trans shift points...
Anyone notice a difference in the way the trans shifts with the EZ hooked up? I've been whining about mine shifting too quickly through the gears for quite a while now. My dealer says it shifts just fine and I finally realized that it is because I pulled the EZ off before I took it to the dealer and without it, the truck shifts fine. Is the box supposed to change the shift points? I also found out that w/ the EZ and the 315s, if I power brake it, it won't turn the tires over at all. (No I don't do this often, I just wanted to try it once)
Have you had your computer recalibrated? If not, take it to the dealer and have them reprogram it for your tire size (you'll need the revolutions per mile for your size tire). Your tranny is electronically controlled and is told to shift at a certain speed. Might help your problem. As for power braking your tires, those tires rae really big and heavy and it's gonna take a hard power brake to spin em.
The shifts are normal, they just happen too quickly. In other words, I'm in OD when I should just be getting into 3rd. Adjusting the throttle valve cable doesn't help either, it just gives me erratic shifts and harsh kickdowns. I have contacted Edge and they are trying to figure out why it would do this when their box supposedly has nothing to do with the transmission....
Something is definitely wrong. I have very similar setup, edge box 315s now 37s, recalibrated speedo, auto trans. I don't have any problem turning rear tires into molasses even without holding brake down. How does it seem with OD turned off? Is it throwing any codes? Maybe tranny is slipping just enough to trip itself into shifting to early. Just trying to help.

Alltork, it feels like it's really close to turning the wheels over so if I had a 325 hp motor plus the box I'm sure it would do it too. Remember, mine is just 250 hp stock...
No codes either.
Thanks
No codes either.
Thanks
The throttle valve cable will change the shift points. With the box on you pull out faster with less throttle, the trans will shift sooner. Try adjusting the cable a little tighter, 1/16" or 1 click at a time. I have mine set at full throttle the valve is full open. Shifts at 18 mph 28 mph 38 and lock at 48. Will shift at 3200 rpm wide open.
From a stop, if I mash the pedal, it will shift fine through all the gears. It's the part throttle shifts that are the problem. They have made the TV cable harder to adjust but I may get out there today and see what I can do.....
