Trans shift points + Transgo kit
Trans shift points + Transgo kit
Hey all,
I got a transgo shift kit a while ago and am putting it in this weekend, along with a few other things that needed to be done (radiator/3kgsk/trans lines etc.) and the directions are kinda vague on which TV spring to use. Says use the white spring for 12V, Red for 24V, and Orange for gas engines. Yellow is inbetween red and orange.
Right now, truck stays in 1st gear way too long, it defuels for about a second before slamming into second gear at about 2700, then shifts into third too early, all at full throttle. So with the 3k kit and a little timing (stock is 14.5, going to 15.5) will the red spring listed for 24Vs be allright? Or should I go with the yellow? The late 1-2 shift wouldn't be a problem with 3k, but will the shift kit change this shift point or will the springs be the final adjustment?
Thanks for any help.

I think I put the red one in. For sure I didn't use the white one. Our kits may be different though. Mine was the older kit, didn't come with a separator plate. PM me and I'll give you some info.
Sounds like you have the opposite problem as me. I think mine shifts out of 1st to early, at about 3mph. The way mine shifts is normal though. Sorry i can't help you out with your problem.
