I bought both of these trucks new. The Hemi is faster, but he likes to fill up more often .

Seriously though it would acheive near 18mpg hwy on trips if I didn't drive it too hard.

I definately pounded that truck on a regular bases though.
You cant compare a 4x4 4 door chassis to a 2x4 2 door chassis, huge weight difference. If we lived closer I could race your 2wd reg cab hemi vs my 2wd reg cab CTD, and I am sure both on stock settings my CTD would win.

I have a 07 Chrysler Aspen with the MDS 345 hp hemi in it. It currently has 3000 miles on it and I drove it from West Virginia to North Carolina and back last weekend.

Avg mileage was 20.3 mpg with cruise set about 5 over the limit on the way down, I saw 19.4 mpg on the way back up the mountain. Avg around town is about 14 or 15 mpg.

Runs very strong for a gasser, I am guessing about 280 hp at the rear wheels and a whole lot more comfortable than my truck to ride in. But I won't be towing my camper and boat with it either

Trucks are meant to do one thing and cars another, guys need to compare apples to apples as already stated here.

Anybody with a stock HEMI Ram that lives close enough to Island Raceway in NJ, I will bet you $500 my stock CTD will beat you in the 1/4 this Friday. Just a friendly wager, I could use the money for my new turbo coming in.

You can watch me program my truck with STOCK software from Smarty and look everything else over.

Since you have transmission mods. Try to find an 03 that has the yellow #7 (or #10 forgot) wire cut. It gets rid of some of the torque control management in 1st and into 2nd gear. I think that knocked about half a second off the quarter mile. They are really over nanny'd.

Because I have an upgraded VB, I'll give the hemi 2/10s, how does that sound? My TC is shot and slipping, so I think my VB probably evens the TC damage out, but I'll give the Hemi a sporting chance.

I dont know what a stock CTD regular cab 2wd runs, but I bet it is around 15.0@92. Thats off the showroom floor.

Well, if I still had my old truck and you lived closer I'd run you for $500.

We could even hire Pinks and have them film it. I am sure two stock 15 second trucks would be a huge hit!

Heck, I'd enjoy that . But I'm pretty sure a regular cab hemi on 17's with a 3.92 gear would break 14's with the right weather/track.

What's this all about???

The majority of truck comparisons is first had experiences as to which one is quicker/faster. This almost all takes place safely the highway or streets.

Do you realize that most performance threads talk about trucks traveling in excess of 65mph and that’s also illegal.... So then is 66mph a bad word as well ?

So what are we suppose to do now???

Not to mention you removed all of our avatars.

It would be a good race for sure, this guy says he ran 14.8@90 in a stock Hemi ST!

Many of the Admins on this forum have worked the Law Enforcement or Fire Dept side of the outcome of fools racing in the street. We know what it is like to shovel up the remains of some ones 16 yr old daughter that was riding in a vehicle when her boyfriend decided to act like an idiot on public roads.

If you want to race, take it to the strip like the rest of us do and save a life, it might very well be your own.

As to the avatar issue, get over it....It was necessary to keep the forums running smoothly so people can find the info they need here. Most members do not come here to see some fancy Avatar, they come here to learn about their trucks .

My 03 SLT Hemi 2WD regular cab with 20's went 14.747 in the quarter. Our 04 Cummins 2WD quad we traded the Hemi in for went 16 something stock. 14.70 with a Bullydog.
