broken input/output shaft question

I think I snapped my input or output
shaft at the drag track.
I have a BD performance tranny . It Does Not have billet shafts.
How much damage did the snapped shaft do?
can I put a new billet shaft in and fix up the tranny?
or am I going to need to buy a new tranny ?

if it is the output shaft you ar e lucky, just drop rear drive whaft, transfer case, and overdrive unit off the back of the tranny, take it to a trans shop and get a new output shaft pressed in and re assemble........ other end of the tranny can cause some major issues, keepin fnigers crossed at this end for you for the output to be broken.

Does your truck roll in park? If so, it's the output.

I just went though this a month ago...

Nevermind, then...

I guess you won't know until you get the thing apart. If you're having a shop do it, have them check the output first, so that they don't have to pull the tranny for no reason...

Good luck on this on, keep us posted...

Sounds like exactly the same thing that happened to mine. Was there a grinding noise? I heard one or two sounds for a second, then nothing... I could rev the motor in drive and get nothing.

If you get it figurud out, call Lary and see what kinda deal he can work you.

He can usually get a good deal on anything for our trucks...
