Unhappy Broken Input Shaft

Well I was driving to town yesterday and never made it there. I was slowing down to make a very sharp turn. Reached down clicked the O/D off, made the turn. As soon as I made the turn I started to give it the gas and bam no more trans. I have ho forward or reverse, but I do have park. No grinding sounds. Luckly I left my tow bar mount on from the last time it went out. Dad brought over his dodge and my tow bar and brought me home. I guess its time for a billet one. Power wise I was only running the bully dog on tow. The mp-8 is still sitting on the shelve.

Bet it was stress cracked from something previously? Ever done anything rough like a sled pull that may have strained it? I wouldn't think that kind of power/driving alone would be enough to wipe it out. Let us know how it turns out. That sucks.

Never pulled with the truck. It just is a daily driver and jeep tow truck. I blew the stock trans and had a dtt built. Had a transdusor go out and do some damage. Then the reverse band came apart and took the drum with it. I should have done the shafts while Fred was in there last time, but I didn't know better. Guess the forth times the charm. And I'll make the jeep the daily driver now. Just can't afford to keep breaking.

One other thing you must look at, check the flex plate. Compare the OEM to the billet one... for the price it is a steal and you will not believe how weak the stock one looks

Try to get some quality pics of the shaft when you pull it. I do failure analysis and would like to take a look and maybe give you some insight as to what happened.--Matt
