Boost Question
Boost Question
I removed my quadzilla commander and replaced it with a set of autometer phantom gauges last week. The commander never showed more than about 31-32psi of boost. Now, with the mechanical gauge, I can hit 40psi pretty easy with my smarty on revo 7. Is this normal and is it safe? I have the boost line ran into my cfm intake horn. Also, is it normal for the gauge needle to shake and vibrate after it gets above 30psi? Thanks
Yeah, I was hitting 40 with my edge and no studs... the stock turbo is not very effective around 38ish and up. My edge would only read 32-35 psi, while my gauge was showing 40+.
Might want to save up for some studs. While you have it all apart, take the plunge and get springs and sticks... (I love spending other people's money!
)
I think that I have read that our stock head gaskets are good to around 50 with out studs, but that's pushing it. The HG's in our trucks are very good.
