Boost Fooler Question

I just installed my Quadzilla boost fooler I got used today. My first question is, do I install it with the plug on the boost fooler connected directly to the MAP sensor and then to the Power Puck, or have my puck conected to the MAP sensor and then install the boost fooler after the Puck? Right now it's hooked with the boost fooler connected to the MAP sensor and then to the Puck. Also, I just went for a drive and at low speeds it seemed to studder and jerk. I flipped the Puck off and then it quit and I couldn't get it to do it again even with the Puck on. It has never done this before. Any suggestions? Thanks

Eric

Plug the BF into the sensor first then the power puck. I think that is correct. You'll know if it is correct if the little green led lights up.

The light will come on anyway. I called quad to ask the same question about my quad B.F and edge ez. They said always plug the pressure box in first to the map, then the B.F. then the factory harness.

Well, I switched it around to where the puck is hooked to the Map and then the boost fooler hooked to the puck. Sometimes I've noticed the truck will stutter if I give it throttle. I let off the throttle or switch the Puck to a different level, it will stop and doesn't do it again until the next random time. I really haven't noticed that big of a differnce with the BF though. Any thoughts? Thanks

the bf isnt going to give you big gains. i think i maybe got another 8 psi out of mine. didnt really notice alot of power gains or large reductions with my egts becuase my turbo was way out of its effective range

I didn't think I would get much gain but the thing is I haven't seen that much boost gain or reduction of EGT's and I only have a Puck.

I don't think I do because it's an early '04. If I don't have an electronic wastegate that would mean you would have to physically do something like a boost elbow. That makes sense.

Correct. So what you need is a boost elbow to effectively use the boost fooler. I didn't think the early '04 models had an electronic wastegate.

But would running a BF without an elbow cause or have something to do with the studder I sometimes have?

I had that happen before when switching things around a lot, i got a small tube of dielectric grease, put some in the ends and reconnected everything, made all the differance. And ya on your 04 i could see not getting much use from it untell you block or adj. your mech. wastegate. Once you get more press. the B.F. will allow you to continue fueling that additional air plus keep any codes away. BTW i noticed a lot more adv. using mine with my tuner rather than just my ez, and even better with them both!
