Wink

Amsoil EA189. It drops into the stock box, requires no oil/solvent, or other crap to work. It also requires no oil/solvent or other crap to clean.
It has a 100K life span, filters better than stock, and any other high performance brand like K&N, ETC. Has a higher flow rate and works as claimed.
Simple as that. They also make round and oval units like a BHAF too.
No I am not affiliated with nor do I sell Amsoil products. I just like to pass on good info on good products. So don`t contact me for the purchase of one... Buy a Cool Hose and an Amsoil Drop in filter, save some cash and keep the inside ot the motor cleaner. Not the inside of your wallet.

Ok, I probably should not have done this, but it was the holiday and I was in a hurry. I was checking things out on the truck and noticed the air filter (factory) getting too dirty. So, I just dropped into the local auto store a dropped in a Puralator replacement filter.

Now, my intent was to just run this for awhile and then get something else. However, I drove over the Santiam pass here in Oregon (uphill sea level to 5000 feet, then down to 3000 feet in Central Oregon) and I could not believe my fuel mileage. It shot up about 1.5 miles per gal. I averaged about 21.5 for the trip. Furthermore, after I got there are drove around, I was getting in the 19s. Usually my combined is 17.5

I was really shocked. I'm not pushing to change to this filter, and I'm still a bit worried if it filters enough. But I'm amazed after reading all these threads on how much the mileage increased.

Well, I'll be interested to hear what others have to say.

Amsoil Ea189, what others have said about it. I modded the bottom of the box for more inlet air too. Blow it out and ready to go again like new. My fuel mileage went up a little too.

Thumbs up

Any place that sells Amsoil can get the filter. I dont think the price will vary much either. Mine was about $40. I did another style of airbox mod with a 4" tube out the botom of the box. It is sealed around the edges so it helps keep engine and turbo heat out of the airbox. It pickes up cooler air down in front of the inner fender.

Can someone provide the part number or a link for the "round and oval units like a BHAF"? My BHAF needs to be replaced and if I can do it with a better flowing and better filtering filter than the BHAF filter then I'm all for it.

I assume it will need an Outerwears cover to keep the water off though.

This is where I purchased my Amsoil Ea189 online. In fact it came in damaged by the carrier, I called Amsoil and they sent one over night as a replacement, great customer service. Had it in now for 3000 miles, also did the 4” air box mod, very happy.
