DIY tranny upgrades... well almost DIY + Where to get them?

I have a very good friend who rebuilds trannies everyday all day. He has told me that he will do what ever I want for $200-300 in labor. He rebuilt a Jeep tranny for me WITH parts for $500. He said just bring the parts to him and he will do the rest.

So I only have a budget of $2500. I know not much...

So what parts should I get? TC and VB I guess, but which ones? Can I do anymore than that on my budget? If so what? I am going to help my friend do the work and hopefully that will give me a little more insite into the weak link on these trucks the tranny...

Help a poor man out...
