Any slipping with Juice?

I have had the Edge Juice/Attitude installed on my 04.5 600 with 48RE Auto. I really haven't gotten on it very hard yet. A few hard freeway merges, etc. That's about it, I really haven't been racing it.

Anyway, any time I go to check the records (Attitude's statistic tracking screen) the Attitude says I have slipped the transmission. It has ranged from 1% to 7%. I will reset the records and when I check again in a few days, it will say that it recorded slippage.

Do you think I am truly slipping? I have never noted a sudden spike in RPM. I really haven't driven it that hard. No burnouts at all. Also, 90% of my driving is city and below lock-up speeds. When I have monitored lockup via the Attitude monitor, I can feel the tranny lock up at 50 mph like clockwork, but the monitor will kind of jump in and out of lockup until I get to around 55 mph. This also happens upon deceleration.

So is it the tranny or the juice? Hoping I can wait a year or two before I have to order a new T/C and V/B.

I have had the Juice/Attitude on for a little over a month now. I have a 4x4, 48RE w 3.73 LS. I have identified an issue with my unit that has to do with the monitoring of the transmission. It does not correctly report transmission lockup, slip or does not maintain the "Transmission Setup" setting. I have tried a new Attitude unit that did not solve the problem. I have talked a number of times with Edge. Arron at Edge has acknowledged that they have a local truck and unit with the same issue and are working on a fix. He said that this does not seem to be on all units and is sporadic. My guess is that the transmission monitoring program needs more tweaking. Everything else seems to work just fine.

Mine will report slip up to 4% also. Now I cant say whether or not it really did slip because I do occasionally kick it up to level 4 and stand on it. With 315s I can see where it might slip. I think I might be able to make it slip a little stock.

I am still happy with the unit and Edge, I just have to wait and see how long a fix for my issues take.

Isn't there always going to be a small amount of slip no matter how strong the lock up???? I agree that 4% for RamW and up to 7% for CimG is way high though.

Juice, Attitude and slippage

There was at least one of the beta testers that had an Attitude monitor that wouldn't keep it's settings. It was replaced and the last I spoke to him, he no longer had the problem. I have had several Attitude monitors during Beta testing and all of mine were fine.

On the slippage,...I was seeing 3% and 4% slippage reported on the Attitude and what seemed like a problem in it hooking up between 3rd and OD. It was my tranny and I guess I pushed it too hard b-4 I upgraded it and when they tore it down I had fried the OD clutches. It only takes a couple times to fry them as they are just about like paper. My $.02 is to upgrade your tranny b-4 you push it on the 3rd to OD. And even after I had the tranny redone, it wasn't until I got the Commander from ATS that all slippage was gone. It tells you in the instructions with the Commander that one of the things the ECM does with the tranny controls is to back her back a bit on a full throttle shift and the Commander forces lockup. Now my 3rd to OD shift is like 1st to 2nd. Nice and crisp. Lovin' it. All the difference in the world. Also I'll tell you that the Juice before and after the tranny seemed like it had 50% more power after the tranny upgrade. Now I'm getting the power to the road. I can run both the Juice and EZ on the highest settings with no problem with tranny, egt or boost. If you don't want to upgrade your turbo it's probably the ideal stack.

I am planning on the tranny upgrade very soon. I figured I would try the HOT Juice after that and then see if I need a pressure box to stack. Do you think I will need FASS or Air Dog with the Hot Juice and maybe EZ stacked??

I have talked personally with two others with the trans monitoring and setup issues. Arron at Edge has a local truck and Juice with the same issues that he has driven and acknowledged the problem. He is going to let me know what they need to do to correct. I am planning on DTT TC, Valve Body, Billet Input and some other mods recommended by a local DTT performance shop. What trans upgrades did you do??

I did the ATS stage V. The only thing additional I did was a Kevlar 2nd gear band. The Commander madkes a lot of difference even with a fully worked up tranny as it forces lockup in each gear. Great for towing, racing and whatever. It's a little tricky to learn how to set up the Commander or I'm a little slow,..probably the latter. It is without a doubt the best money I spent on my truck yet. I'm sure the DTT is a great set up also as I have friends who are running it. I did my own investigation and decided on the ATS however. Just my choice. Hope that helps you.

OT-OF-Here,

Thanks for the info. I am leaning toward the DTT mainly because of cost. I have talked to local guy with the same ATS Stage V and Commander setup done by local ATS shop. He is happy with the setup. Also talked to a numbe of people locally and out of state that have DTT work done by another local DTT performance shop. They swear by his work and the DTT upgrades. I am fairly sure both will handle what I plan on. So at this point the difference in cost is almost enough to add a new turbo.

Thanks again.

???

So with the tranny upgrades? What did you upgrade? I am getting ready to add the Juice and looking at what things I will need to do for the tranny in the future.

Thanks
Bruce

Go to ATSdiesel.com and it lays it out for you with what you get on each Stage. You might also check out DTT and Suncoast so you can feel good about your decision. There are others obviously, but those are the three you see most on this site who have a good reputation.
