Another Clutch Thread
good tranny jack is key!!
and DONT force it in....you can walk it in but you gotta be super careful..it has to walk in completely leveled and even ALL the way around the bell housing.
dont even try it with out a tranny jack other wise you and your friend who helps will need back surgery!!

i was looking at the SB site today and it looked like the OFE comes with a new flywheel. if i get a new flywheel with it then it will only cost me $350 install because i won't have to get my old one turned. anyways i will let you all know it works out.
also on the track if i rev the motor up to about 2K or even 2500 in 2nd and dump it will it mess up the clutch? or should i just take off normal but fast?
Thanks for all the help.

Ok i have talked about getting a clutch for some time now and TCR i know you will have something to say
. but i am slipping the stock one even more now so i have to get one like it or not. i talk to Lary and we looked at the SB CON FE it is rated at 550HP and also the new Double Disk Clutch 3250 12Cb Ductile Flywheel. but don't know anything about it. now they say that the Ductile you can't pull or even dragrace with it so i think that one will be out of the picture. but for the FE what do you think. i am right at about 400HP now and don't think i will be at even 500 by next year. i know that some of you will tell me to just do it right and get the best but i don't have the money because we are working on buying a house right now and my clutch is going to be gone by next month so i think the FE will work for now. also do i need to do the Hydro kit with the FE or can i run it stock.
Thanks,
Eric

No offense, but who ever told you you cant drag w/ the DD 3250 is wrong. I was going through the same you where, so I called Peter told him I was eventually going to be at 650hp and was going to drag race it quite a bit, but no pulling and he said that the DD3250 is the perfect clutch. The fact its only a 150 bucks more than the OFE I think you should have went w/ it. It wouldve given you room to go also.
I would have went with the dd. You can pull with th ductile flywheel. Look at haisleys street puller on a modified stock 6 speed flywheel or enterprises engines pullin clutch on a stock flywheel. For 1100 dollars for the ofe, you can buy a non sfi dd from powerparts engineering for 1350. I would tow anything you can think of with my pulling clutch. It is way smoother than the single disc while holding a crapload more horse. Just my two cents. Tim
