Air filter & muffler install

Today I installed an Amsoil EaA189 & a Donaldson 40" muffler. The turbo seems a tad bit louder & it winds up a tad bit faster. I wasn't wanting ALOT more sound. Well, I didn't get ALOT more sound. I don't think it is any louder but I do think it is a little deeper. I could have used a little more sound but it will do for now. Do ya'll recommend 1 4" hole or alot of 1/2" holes to swisscheese the airbox? I have read alot on the subject, but noone really says which they think works better. Hope this helps someone & I thank you for your advice.

Also, what's the best way to get the black baffles out of the intake tube?

Baffle removal

I used a long 12" blade on a sawsall and cut the X baffle out. Then I took an oval sledge handle and hammer and broke the inner rings out of the intake tube. They snap off real easy and they end up almost flush.

Whats the part number on the Donaldson muffler you used. I want something as quiet as stock if possible.

swiss cheese the air box however, and then duck tape it over (tape on both sides sticks to itself in middle of hole)

i did mine on bottom, then taped those over, and did front.

hth?

Why duct tape? you mean duct tape over the hole you just made? 1 4" hole on bottom or lots of holes everywhere?

my fault, no, i used a dead bolt kit hole saw - like 2.5 inch hole. put a BUNCH in....

then had to close some of them up, and put the holes in the front.

was saying - he can make holes, and then close them up if he is unhappy.

i gave mine away and dude took the tape off, he likes how loud it is with holes in top & bottom.
