AFE stock replacement filter

I am getting ready to replace my air filter. I saw that AFE has a high performance stock replacment. Any thoughts? Is it worth the $85 or so or should I just save and get a scotty 3? Further down the road, I am thinking Edge Juice, DonM injectors, clutch, fuel system upgrade, clutch, turbo. But I don't know how long before that will happen.

Thanks,

Nick

I have the AFE PG-7 drop in filter. I didn't notice any difference. The main advantage is that it is cleanable.

I have a AFE PG7 drop in filter in my truck with the homemade torque tube. I was pulling the restrictor guage down about 1/3 when towing our trailer with the stock filter. The guage never moves now, that tells me it is getting better flow. For me it was well worth it.

Ditto. Same problem with the stock filter and same results with my AFE drop-in.

I used to run an AFE drop-in and my filterminder still got sucked way down. I never really noticed any difference except that I could clean and reuse it. I'd say just save your money and get the whole system or you'll end up losing a bunch of $$$ when you go to sell the AFE later on...

Smile pro gaurd 7

I also have the drop in, not much difference than stock filter only I can clean it when I want which makes it a lot cheaper that buying new paper filter every 5-6000 miles. Does the BHAF flow more air than the pro guard 7?
