AFE Pro Guard 7 vs. regular AFE filter
AFE Pro Guard 7 vs. regular AFE filter
I recently bought a stage 2 intake for my truck, w/o the pro-guard 7. But from what I am reading I think I should buy the pro guard element. Anybody have any opinion on this. I don't want to kill my truck because of a junk filter.

I ran the standard afe filter on my Stage I for about 8,000 miles before I bought a Pro-Gaurd 7 filter. I used a pre-filter on both to keep water, mud, dirt, etc. from getting directly on the filter element. I did not do any oil analysis, but I never had any dirt or film in the torque tube with either filter. I bought the Pro-Gaurd 7 filter so that I would have two and make it easier for switching to clean, dry properly and re-oil.
