So when I bought my truck it had a AFE kit and filter on it, Im guessing the stage 1 set up. I purchased a replacement filter off Ebay that was supposed to fit. Well the 6" opening on the filter I received didnt quite work like the seller said in the description I sent it back, told the guy what I had and what I needed. The filter I have on there has a 4.5" inlet and I told him this. He sent a replacement and the inlet on it is only 4" and will not fit. Now he is telling me AFE filters will either have a 4" inlet for stage 1 kits or a 6" inlet for stage 2 kits. What filter do I need? A part number would be great.

 

Geno's list the 4.5 inlet flange part number as AFE72-90028, but it also says it's for a 3rd Gen.

The replacement filter for the Stage 1 is AFE72-90010 for 2nd Gen trucks, but doesn't list the inlet flange size...

Your right you do need the filter with the 4.5" opening.
The guy on ebay only sells the 6" and 4" opening units...his add's are misleading.
