Ok, so I got my truck in the spring and "needed" to use my high idle a few times. Worked fine.

This summer I got my DiabloSport programmer, punched in level II and now that the cold weather is on the way...no high idle!

What's up with that?! Did they "forget" us Canadians, eh?! [laugh

Anyone else lose their high idle with the DiabloSport (or any other) programmer?

 

Not with a Smarty.

 

I live in Calgary I have the smarty and NO high idle issues. warms up like a trooper especially with this cold snap coming.

 

the diablo more than likely erased the high idle setting. I had it happen to me once after the dealer did a flash on mine. (smarty was removed). picked up my truck and tested everything out and high idle no workie. told my service adviser it was turned on before I brought it in and he had a tech come out and enable it really quick.

 

My suggestion to you would be to put it back to stock. Have a friend with a Smarty unprogram there truck and program yours. Then program yours back to stock. The high idle will continue to work. After all this is done, ditch the Diablo.

 

are u talkin about the auto hihg idle when the engine is cold or the one that works off the cruise buttns,the auto one should work,email johan at dialo and ask about it if its the crusise one,my auto one works fine with the pred,i triked my high idle to come on with a switch,i spliced the tstat wire and put a switch between and voila,instant high idle,i would rather have the crusie one but i took it to the deler and installed the wire on the loom but no go so this works for me,

 

It's the high idle you set with cruise control. The automatic works normal. Hmm...just to make sure, what is the cruise control sequence?

 

Turn on cruise, hit set.

 

I think I lost my automatic high Idle with the new smarty update. It was 20 when I got off work and I had to idle it up with the manual high idle.

 

Yeah, tested setting the high idle with cruise control...definately gone! The engine still idles itself up normally though. I guess I'll go back to the stock program until this weather passes.

GONE!!!

I put back the "original" map and my high idle never came back!! So much for it copying it "perfectly"...
