Ditched the Flashpaq, Hello Smarty!!

Went digging through my laundry the other day and found enough pocket lint, pennies, and graduation money to purchase the Smarty. Decided it was time for the flashpaq to go, to many promises, to many excuses.

Will be placing a call into SB to find out which clutch i should run. Its up between the OFE and FE. Needless to say, i am excited to play with this programmer.....so i figured I would share that excitement.

man im glad you could join us. i used to go to the flashpaq forum when i had my Sc but when i bought a smarty, i would sometimes go over there to stir the pot and ask people why they were still putting up with all the lies. well, slowly but surely all the people who gave me a hard time have apparently had their fill and are joining the smarty revolution. i sure wish i had some mads electronics stock these days

i think that you will be very surprised when you get to compare the smarty to the sc. the smarty has tons more power and fuel milage to be had over the sc.
as for the clutch how much power are you planning for?

Looking at running a set of twins. maybe some injectors, lift pump, dual line from the CP3. Dont know where that sets me, but running 37s she is not going to be race truck, just like the power. May seem some towing in the near future. Toy hauler and such. I would like to run an OFE due to people talking about the FE being a bit grabby, but i only want to buy a new clutch once. right now, i am having problems with my hydraulics lossing pressure if i get on it with the superchips tunred up. So i am hoping a new clutch and Hydraulics fix that.

Anybody think the superchips firefly will be a bad stack with the smarty? it is a pressure box...the same as an EZ. I already have it. Should i stick with it, or sell it and get something else.?

I have no doubts that South Bend will be the cltuch. I take a look at the sigs and post and anyone that has a clutch has a SB. How does the DD disengage, pedal pressure and all of that. Any harder to install. Seems like lining up two cltuch and a PP would be a PITA. Never done a clutch on a truck...a honda civic and will NEVER EVER do that again.

What about backing in a trailer with the FE pose any problems? as tall as the reverse is on these i bet it posses a challange if the clutch is grabby. I am leaning towards the FE for sure. I know how it goes, i went from never modding, to "just a chip", to this......
