My REC Nav unit says "IPod" on it but I can't see anywhere that you could plug one in. My stock CD player has one....

I drove a plain ST model in Memphis the other day and the CD radio in it had an iPod input on the front. I definitely want an input on whatever radio comes in my new Dodge. I'm replacing a Ford F350.

Auxillary input

my 2007 2500 5.9 came with the standard radio and it had an auxillary input for the Ipod, or other MP3 players. Actually, my son even plugged in a tape player. (He's only 16, but very old school sometimes ) I changed my radio out for a Sony unit that will play CDs with MP3s on them.

2007 Radios

In the 2007 owner's manual there are 4 radios available with the following sales codes:

REF= single CD, Sat capable w/ aux input
RAQ= 6 CD, Sat, hands free, etc. No aux input
RAK= Cassette, 6 CD, Sat, hands free, video, MP3 and, WMA cap. No aux.
REC= 6 CD, Navigation System, No aux.

Maybe you can find more online with the codes. The manual is clear as mud.
I have the REF and the aux. input is on the front.

Isn't it kind of backwards how the upper end radios do not have an auxiliary input? With today's technology every radio should come with multiple aux inputs.

I agree. Every radio says it's MP3 capable, but with no aux input I guess you can only play them from a CD(MP3 Format). Not sure if the lower end radio (REF) can play MP3 CD's. I need to try it. You can plug in an IPOD or MP3 player, but Santa didn't bring me one!

The single CD player can't play MP3 CDs, but does have the auxiliary input for the MP3 players (iPod). That's what will come standard on the SLTs. The Big Horn, Lone Star, Thunder Road, or whatever you have in your area will come with the Sirius as well.
