For what its worth the anwser to your other thread that is gone is that there are no 3.54 gears after 02. The only gears available for the AAM axles (03-present) are 3.73 that you claim to have and the 4.10s. So you wont find anyone taking you up on the offer to trade axles.

actually, I never said a word about 355 gears, I asked about 342 gears which "are" currently available and come standard in all new dodge diesel pickups including the 3500 dually trucks as you can see by clicking here---->>http://www.dodge.com/hostc/bmo/powertrain.do

Never seen or heard of one, but if the website shows it, I would say yes it is available.

I would think it might be a wee bit under geared for a Dually.

3:42's are available, I have them in my 09 4x4 dually 6-speed manual.

Supersonictoys, if it is a direct bolt-in and all the parts are the same I would be interested in a swap.

I use my truck commercially and for the heavier loads I haul (30K+ GVWR) the 3:42 gears just don't quite cut it.

Where are you located?

As stated before, 3.42 gears were available for manual tranny guys only starting in 08'. The final gear ratio would be like an NV5600 and 3.73 gears.

The G56 behind the 6.7L has a .74 OD. The 3.42 is the fuel economy setup.

with the 6.7 and the G56 what is an ideal gear ratio for grossing out at 26k. I tow a goosneck dump trailer, so my truck will be used half the time to haul and the other half empty (looking at jobs, family time etc) the truck in question willl be a 3500 c&c. thanks
