This si the correct TSB for the latest flash update I believe. Without having the actual part number off of the module, you won't know the latest upgrade. There isn't a blanket part number. Auto, manual tran, calif emissions, ect. all have a different part number.

Well, After two weeks of waiting they finally got my brand new turbo in. They put it on the truck and it turn out to be BAD TURBO TOO. They have sent it back and put another one on order. I am assuming it will take another two weeks. This is starting to get frustrating.

Odds of a new part being bad are pretty poor. Odds of the first turbo being bad are pretty slim too. I would bet that there is an electrical problem that they are missing. Ihope when the next turbo comes in they don't keep playing the bad part game and try another one! I would consider a different dealer! They can order the part "car down" meaning they will get priority on the next available part too. I don't think they are giving you their all.

I have a 07 6.7L Quad 4X4 with the six speed manual. It now has 1234 miles on it. My turbo was replaced at 560 miles. Per the dealer the code showed low turbin speed. They contacted STAR and were told to run some tests on it before STAR told them to replace the turbo. It took 3 days for the part to arrive and be installed. No problems since.

Assuming that you are driving an auto 6 speed, if you are decending a hill throttle off for some time the trans will downshift when you get to the programmed shift point. This isn't the exhaust brake but sounds similar.

I had my truck in the shop Monday again and they said that the flash didnt take the last time I had it done. Aparently it is a very drawn out process to get this right and even when they tried Monday it took 2 tries on the bootloader and 2 tries on the flash to get the truck to take it. They thought I would be fixed and the light came back on after 14 miles. Tech called me back this morning and said they now have another truck doing the same thing and he spent time on the phone and Chrysler told me to run the exhaust brake all of the time and it should keep everything clean and the light off until they can get a fix for this issue.

Question: Are our factory exhaust brakes on the 6.7's basically the same as the OEM units that can be added to the 5.9's? I ask the question because I read somewhere that they are different and on the 6.7's they are actually closing the turbo vanes to function like an EB. That might explain why sometimes during rapid decel it sounds like the EB is on, when in fact it isn't?

from what i understand MtnTrucker, what you say is correct. I know in fact they are different from one another but i dont know for sure how the 6.7 functions but i believe it is close to what you describe.

Exactly right on how th 6.7 turbo works. The 5.9L and the aftermarket EB's are different. They are just closing a flap in the exhaust.

The truck I purchased was dianosed with a "coking" problem with the vane control gear. This means turbo replacement at 4000 miles. Dealer says at least a week for a backordered replacement.
