Transmission problem
I have a 2006 dodge 2500, my problem is the transmission. It a 48re, I ordered the stage 4 trans kit for it, valve body, triple clutch converter. My problem is now I can't keep a overdrive planetary in it. Have already went threw two one stock a aftermarket one. Anyone have any input on this OR a fix for it

Ok found the fix for the overdive planetary problem. Well I take that back I found out what the high dollar trans company's won't tell you and won't sell you. Straight cut planetarys is how they keep them together. You can use the old style in the new style. You just have to get ahold of the right people that will tell you what you need to know.

Straight teeth is not the answer. Something is wrong with the gear train. Straight cut teeth were standard for about two months with Dodge at some point. Believe 48re has 5 or six pinions in OD plantary. What else is damaged in failure?

Nothing else, besides the sun gear when the planetary gear shattered. Everysince I replaced the stock valve body it has shifted out hard when it went into overdrive. I haven't had any problems out of it since I replaced the planetary gear with straight cut gears. That and I took the programmer off of preformance and put it on gas saver.
