too soon for lemon law?
hovisimo,
I'm sorry to hear you have had such bad luck with your new truck but understand that you may need to sue them to make it right with you. I do know that Dodge writes the code that talks to the Cummins computer and Dodge has been known to drop the ball at writing code for the Cummins engine.
as most people here are going to come to understand the same about the 6.7L.
It sounds like you've had a terrible experience for sure. It does sound to me like 99.9% of your problems are really related to a totally inept dealership and not to the truck itself. So thats why I have to disagree with your comment above. I've had lemon vehicles before too (Blue Oval) so I know what you're going through, but that doesn't mean that everyone else is going to have big problems with their 6.7's. In fact, I feel just the opposite. Most of the info on this forum indicate the new flashes are beginning to reolve most of the problems.
If the laws in PA allow a lemon replacement under these conditions then it's the right thing to do. But if this happened in Colorado, they would allow Dodge to send it to another dealer that is competent and let them try to fix it properly before making a judgement in your favor.
Good luck, hope your finger is OK.

I did that 3 weeks ago, but when you sue, they sort of don't want to talk to you anymore.
Still, going to call tomorrow and advise them that one dealer's service dept refused to work on it, and the other's general manager said hope it works out for you and hung up.
what rock do you have to crawl out from under to work at a dealership?

OK, I will probably get slammed for this....
Honestly, I think you did the right thing. I love my Dodge truck, but I would have done the same! I just got rid of my 2001 GMC Denali Yukon XL... I can't even begin to express my negative feelings. I went through 4 transmissions and a whole long list of other things, about 15-20K of repairs. OK, all under warrenty thanks to the transmission warr. and extended warr. If I could have lemon lawed... I would have without question.
There is no other option for a heavy duty truck, other than an American brand. I am all for my country and the product it produces. But this is no reason to tolerate sub-par quality standards. Sure there are many factors which make our vehicles expensive to produce and the manufacturers have to cut corners to be competative (labor unions, etc...). There must be a limit to what should be tolerated.
my own $0.02...

Brake light switch is basicly non adjustable.Grab the metal bracket its housed in and GRUNT upwards and adjust it.Some techs are air egg heads as I was told with mine not tripping the brake lights or my trailer brakes unless I about put myself through the windshield stopping that there was nothing that could be done about that.Well by gawd you adjust by manhandling the bracket its housed in.Did mine in a few minutes in my driveway. It as ALWAYS been the view that the MEXICAN built trucks were of BETTER quality then the ones assembled here.Post after post stating this.
Day before I was pulled over stopped at a red light and given a fix it ticket for no brake lights which escalated the situation. I forwarded this information to the party handling my claim, along with a copy of the PA vehicle code and explained that as an inspection technician I am legally required to fail my truck when I inspect it in April. Chrysler sold me a $48,000 truck that will not pass inspection, if I cannot get them to buy it back then no one should be able to. This situation is indeed the fault of an incompetent dealer, but I have no control over whether or not they fix the truck. Local dealer refuses to work on it because when I first filed a claim with Chrysler, corporate instructed them not to work on and let the selling dealer work on it, I never heard back from anyone regarding the claim, no one will fix it, so I sued.
Sorry for the continued ranting, I am glad most of you are enjoying your 6.7s, with the cost of fuel, poor fuel economy and weekly trips back to the dealer, I can't afford to drive mine. I am simply not continuing to pay money for this thing. I will try to get into a low mileage 5.9 because IMO those are the trucks that meet my expectations.
I sure feel for you. Sounds like you got a lemon and a bad dealer to help you. Horrible combination. Also, I would have to agree that you have a solid case for a do-over of some sort for what you've explained. I don't think it should be too hard after all that... I know I would be royally ******. They'd be suing me for battery or something instead...
haha, I've maintained my composure, though I did tell the service manager I need someone who can do more than read work orders to me. they don't fix the truck, when I ask why, he reads the work order real slow out loud and says have a nice day.
sure the guy needs put in his place, I'd rather his manager or better yet Chrysler do it than me. it needs to be made clear there are consequences for such failures, and I am bringing the consequences.
IMO this applies to the service sector as a whole, companies think they can staff their place with people with an IQ of 100, treat customers like they have an IQ half that, get away with it, and people take it and come back for more. NO MORE!

Thank you sir for the advice, I relayed this to the tech, the bracket was indeed bent. The reason I am suing is because I had to stand outside with the service manager behind the truck, press the brake pedal, yell "I am pressing the brake pedal, do you see brake lights?" and then have him tell me "no but they are all like that." The P0128 code has caused a MIL for a total of 5 trips back, on this same trip all they did was clear the code and didn't diagnose anything. I predict The MIL will come on again
