Regeneration - When?
I have had my truck for 10000 miles and have not noticed a regen. As far as gas mileage goes, It pretty much sucks all of the time. Maybe i am in regen all of the time? I still love the truck and it hasn't given me a bit of trouble.

In my case, my truck has the regen cycle when I need the truck the most.
Example #1 loaded with firewood and going up a steep muddy bank, man what's wrong this thing it seems to be doggin down.
Ex #2 Pullin a truck n trailor outta the mud, get out to unhook, and it's in regen.
Ex#3 Pull up to stop light and exhaust brake stays on, sure enough roll down the window and listen to the engine's little whiney, choked off voice. regenacide again. At least it doesn't die anymore after the first reflash.
Ex#4 Check overhead mpg's and get 11 or 12
I could go on with others. Every regen just makes that race exhaust kit more of a reallity for me.

My Dad's truck finally did it's first regen a few weeks ago. Said the EGT's went up about 200 degrees while cruising down the highway. Only lasted a few minutes. Only noticed the increased EGTs, nothing else.

I only notice while running down the highway @ 75 m.p.h. and watch the AVG. M.P.G.'s start dropping down to 11 or 12 m.p.g. on the overhead. Lasts about 20 to 30 minutes and then the avg. m.p.g.'s start climbing back up to the normal 15.5.

Regen is not displayed in the overhead. Without a Pyrometer - the only other indication on the highway is the decrease in mileage. In the city, its the "smell" when you are stopped at a light that tells you.
Typically, its every couple hundred miles depending on driving habits. On my 600 mile trip Monday I "think" it regenerated twice -cna't be sure without the Pyrometer or Edge Attitude.

There is no light or message telling you about the regen, the only way to tell if you are concerned about it is to buy a display that shows it. The attitude monitor i have shows when the truck is in regen so you don't over fuel the motor. Driving at 70mph egts are about 810, regen kicks them up to 1210-1260 for 15 minutes on the latest flash. If you idle lots during the day your NOX filter will plug up, this WILL show up on the overhead distplay as so many % full. Once on the highway egts will climb as high as 1350 to clean out the NOX filter for about 5 minutes, surging up and down.
