Good question. I've read that it does regen, cruise or not.

I think it won't do a Desoot if you are in CC. This is one of those gray areas that we can't seem to get a definite answer on though.....

Who told you THAT!! I have an Edge Insight which has an alarm when the 6.7L goes into regen or "de-soot mode" as the Insight refers to it. I have 172k miles on my truck and MOST of them have been racked up on CC. My truck regens while on CC or not.

That is what lots of service writers and techs are telling 6.7l owners...

Mine won't go into regen no matter what I do.........

The only situation where my truck will not regen is when I move the gear shifter to Park. If it goes into regen while just cruising around and I come to a stop light or something it will continue with the regen unless I'm idling for a LONG period of time. Now a couple of times when I was towing, in CC and in regen, the regen would suspend while downshifting to go up a hill. As soon as the truck upshifted back into OD the regen would re-initiate. I have never experienced CC interfering with a regen.

Don't know what the SW's & techs are talking about.

Yours probably won't regen since you've altered the exhaust/EGR system and it never gets a request to regen. My truck has all the air-pollution stuff intact. Running around grocery-getting type running causes my truck to regen more than when I'm on the road @ 70 m.p.h. with some weight behind me, BUT it still does regen then and while running on CC.

mine would do a regen while in cruise (before I fixed it). It wouldn't start the regen though until I had been driving about 10-15 minutes, then it would take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
