Red face Puddle jumping

A couple of days ago I drove through a pretty good sized puddle, about a foot deep and maybe fifty feet wide at about 25-30 mph. I wasn't trying to splash anyone, but I figured I didn't have to worry about getting any spark plugs wet. What I didn't count on was the splashing water under the truck folding a gas-tank heat shield back and bending it around the drive shaft. It was an easy temporary fix but it had me going for a while, trying to figure out what the new noise was. Sounded like a piece of sheet metal rubbing on something. Duh....

Fuel Tank I am sure he meant..... however, these are the same tanks used on Hemi powered trucks... so I guess it could be known as a gas tank??

I've often wondered what would happen to the DPF if it was sprayed or immersed while it is super hot from a regen cycle. Would it crack/break?
