Exclamation Please help or read

Hello,

Drove about 100 miles today, no load and the truck worked GREAT like the day I bought it (about a week ago 700mi).... Then parked the truck at work for about 4-5 hours this after noon.... THEN, I started it to go home and it cranked over just fine and normal but it was LOUD like a 5.9 with some timing. When you took off from 750-1000 Rpm's it would hesitate. The truck seamed to run great on the High way home but it was loud...
Got home and rolled the window down and got out and looked around the truck (all though I like the 5.9 sound a lot I don’t think this was normal) and everything was looking OK,,, but again,, it was freaking LOUD... Sounded again, like a good Mod'ed 5.9....

Turned the motor off and went inside, came back out about 20 minutes later and started it and everything sounded back to normal and quiet....

One more thing, after the 1000 Rpm "hick-up" the turbo seamed to come on much faster like a PUNCH.

WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT ???? ? ? ? ? Thanks guys ! I have a 07~6.7

think you were experiencing the "passive" regen, it doesn't show up on the overhead, but it will happen pretty often, the extra punch probably comes from the added fuel to heat things up enough for the burn, some more folks will chime in, but that's what it sounds like to me, I also notice that the exhaust brake will come on at will idling when mine is in the passive regen, even with the button turned off it will stay on? hope this helps, Dusty

That is kinda funny that you said that... the last 10-15 miles of my 100 this morning I had the exhaust brake on... Then when I pulled in to my work parking lot I turned it off.... Then you know the rest..... Thanks for your post

I was pushing the buttons on the over head and it said everything OK.... So that might have been it... I have to drive across the US here in a few days and it kinda freaked me out.... Maybe someone will chime in... Thanks for the post!

Mine did the same thing at about 1100 miles. There are some threads about this awhile back, I started one.

My dealer could not find any problems with mine after the episode. It never happened again and I have since had the TSB performed on the truck. Put about 1200 miles on it since the TSB and it runs awesome.

Make an appointment for the regen TSB.

Guys,

This thread triggered a thought for me. I have noticed a few times pulling off of the highway (normal mode not in tow/haul) where I definitely have the exhaust brake turned off but it seems to come on. You can hear the brrrrp and feel the truck slow down. Has anyone else experienced this? It's only happened 2-3 times in 600 miles. I picked the truck up 10 days ago and the dealer confirmed it had the Rev A flash in it.

Nope, but while were on this subject, About 4-5 times in reverse mine has just come out of gear..... There is a small box that circles the "R" for reverse..... While im backing out of a parking spot or my drive way you can feel the (trying to pull you back with the foot on the brake) goes away and its in [N]eutral... im just rolling back and it comes out of gear? What the heck?

Same here!! With the exh. brake off it still sounds like it's engaged slowing down - not all the time. When idling for over a minute, it changes sound too.
