New air and exhaust

I installed a Banks ram air and monster exhaust on the 6.7, now the exhaust tail pipe is begining to get black with soot! I know most of you would love it but I want mine to be clean. Any of you have ideas as to why this might be happening. Thanks

If you installed a full exhaust which eliminates the CAT, DPF, and NOx filter then you are now allowing all that stuff to get through the exhaust. If all you added was a muffler and tailpipe then you may have other issues... Mine is still fairly clean and I have deleted all the junk on my exhaust...

Mine is Black! And that’s the way it should be!
As Dodgezilla said, with all removed (Deleted) it has to be black, if you left any part of the factory exhaust on it, it will stay clean at the tip, just not up inside.
Let it out!!

I'd venture that your exhaust is the new DPF-back one for the 6.7L with the "cool cuff" design. If so I'd say you shouldn't be getting black, this would lead me to an emissions equipment issue or the mixture of more air leading the computer to push more fuel. This could lead to pre-mature DPF failure down the road.

This assumes you have all that "wonderful" stuff still intact.

Sounds like your dpf is cracked u will have to take it in and have dealer look at it. The 6.7 with dpf should have a clean pipe.

should be NO soot with emissions equipment in place. i don't think Banks makes a turbo back for the 6.7. so, with that said my guess would be a cracked dpf. have your dealer check it out. then get rid of the Banks uhhhh...stuff, and go with a turbo back system. the only thing the banks does is make it sound different and lighten your wallet considerably for doing only that. your truck will run MUCH better with that stuff (dpf, egr) gone.

Mine is sooted up and has been for about 45,000 miles. Early on it was in for service pretty regular. They did one flash for excessive soot but I don't remember the letters. Mine may be clean now just dirty from the first.

Mine stayed perfectly clean before I pulled it all off. I can't believe that it is still so clean now after doing the deletes. I am still only making stock power though......
