Ha Ha!! they are working on it but I guess it's tougher than they thought it would be. Codes don't really matter as long as it runs right. I don't even notice my CEL anymore. I'm too busy staring at my OH telling me I'm getting 17 city mpgs now...... (It reads 1 mpg high but I won't complain about the 16.25 mpg I hand calc'd this morning at fillup time )

They are working on a code free setup as we speak and it is in the beta testing stages. I was told that if you already have an older kit then there will be a nominal upgrade charge for the code free boxes but we will have to send the old boxes back. If you already have the kit you may as well throw it on if you are already staring at the CEL anyways...
They are also working on a code free kit for the EGR. That's where most of the codes are coming from anyways. Last time I checked I did not have any stored DPF codes, only EGR codes......

The CEL is like the boy who cried wolf... No one believes it anymore when it may count (like injectors or something).

Maybe they should offer and upgrade from the factory in the form of a built in code reader (like an actual gauge vs. an idiot lite).

If it's something major then I'm sure the truck would not be running right. In that case then, of course, you read the codes and see if there is anything new....

What, you like the glowing light, but don't want a built in ticker-tape of codes running accross your dash so you have instant knowledge of pending malfunctions?

I think I have a home-made code free kit. I haven't seen a cel ever, including after I installed the delete. I have an edge but forget to let it clear codes half the time and still, no CEL. The shop I took it too made the adapter cable with parts from radio shack, ( whatever works ). I have 2 gutted 5.9 cats inline to fool curious authorities. So, I am basically straight-piped. I saved all of the other stuff for if I need to get tested or trade it in.

are you still running the back pressure lines because if so maybe the 2 cats create enough back pressure to keep from throwing a code, or are the back pressure sensors even the problem with the cel and dpf delete?

I am not so sure what kind of back pressure I would be getting from the 2 cats if they are totally empty. I am not sure what is plugged in as far as sensors go. I know something is plugged in cause he attached a threaded port for one to screw into. The others are plugged into the " radio shack " cable with some box on it. The truck always thinks it is hot enough for a passive regen, so it never goes into active regen. The truck always thinks the exhaust is 1500 degrees. So no active regen.

That shop that came up with your setup could be making a bunch of $$$ if he started selling those kits.....

That is what I thought the code free kits would essentially do. Tell the computer that everything is as ideal as it needs to be to not have to do all the regen crap and not throw any codes... Seems simple, but there must be something else to it?

BADP probably would be an alright company to deal with but I have had a set on order for over 90 days now. They never return phone calls and can never get me a status. I ended up ordering from H&S, showed up in 4 days. Had to call credit card company to cancel BADP order and still fighting them on it.
