How many miles to go when gas light comes on?

I think my 03, 5.9, was supposed to have 5 gal. when the light came on, which was about 100 miles, at 20MPG for my old 2003.

It is going to depend on your size of tank. My cab/chassis holds 52 gallons and sometimes I can go 90 miles after the low fuel light comes on.

mine say 73, but I have only drove it 50 miles with it on..

I have done 60 only because no open filling stations after 9pm and it took 34.5 gallons to fill it. I am pretty sure that it only has a 35 gallon tank.

It is designed to come on when you have 8% left in the tank.

So for a 35-gal tank= 2.8 gal or roughly 50 miles.
