Need advice for Buddy w 6.7l

Specific around Intake and Exhaust....

1. I have a trueflow on my 5.9l....but have heard good things about the dry filters....
- Are drop in replacement filters ok for the 6.7l...
- Any concerns about codes or anything will all the emissions stuff?

2. Exhaust...need recommendation for better flow / sound (but not annoying when towing)
- For 5.9l....i would recommend replacement muffler (MRBP or
Donaldson)....does this still hold true for the 6.7l?
- Who makes good 5" tips?
- Do not want to mess with DPF / Emissions stuff

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately you can't get anymore sound out of these even putting straight pipe in place of the muffler. The only way is to do illegal stuff which you already said you guys don't want to do.
I have been running a stock 5.9 air filter in my truck as it is about half as thick as the stock 6.7 unit. Mileage seemed to go up very slightly but nothing major. I will probably get a dry AFE Super Stock drop in filter when this one gets dirty.

Does an aftermarket muffler at least allow a little more flow? Or does the dpf prevent any improvement....

The factory muffler is straight through so I don't see how you could get anymore flow out of a piece of SP.
I have the same 4"in x 6"out tip that I ran on my 03 and my 07 trucks and it is holding up just fine. Must be because it is 2" larger than the factory tailpipe. I see no blueing or anything yet....

From what everyone I have talked to has said, unless you are planning on breaking the EPA laws there is no gain at all with changing the pipes on these new trucks. The restrictions are way higher in the pipe and a cat back (or DPF back) are useless

One of the best things about my new Dodge is how quiet it is! When I haul non stop 1000 miles to a rodeo the last thing I want is to be even more tired from listening to useless noise. Why do you want noise?

I have had loud vehicles for the last 25 years. I just like it as long as it is good noise and not obnoxiously loud....

I am kinda torn. I loved the audible HP in my 99!! That thing would make people duck when you romped on it. I also really like how easy it is to hear the radio and talk over this truck for long trips

Im another torn one. Some days I feel like a little CTD shimmy so I hop in the work truck. The 6.7L is FAR more civilized a ride though. I LOVE how quiet and refined it feels driving down the road at highway speeds and not being able to tell if the engine is running or not.
