How to check for code?

I had my engine light come on yesterday and was wondering how I could check to see which code it is? I have over 15K miles and it's been great so far. I have had all the latest flashes done and this is my 3rd check engine so far. Can anyone help? Thanks

O.K. turn the key from off to on 3 times ending in the on position. Then the code will appear in the odo. screen. Also .......go to the user cp section on the upper left of your screen and fill out your sig. These instructions are for a 3rd gen since that is where you posted, and due to the miles on your truck , I have to assume!

Click here to get the description of your code

Checking codes

Also keep in mind that the parking brake may need to be set.

That is the only way it will check the code for my 2007 6.7

Also mine throws a code for turbo [ no boost detected ] and [ no catalyst detection] every once in awhile. When the ecm or pcm runs its checks if it picks it up it will reset.

Hope this helps...

Today the engine light came on again and I tried to get a code but it says System OK and the odo just shows the mileage any Ideas? The last time it came on the dealer said to run it at high speeds with the EB on and that will fix it and it did. So I'll try that again this weekend.

If it is showing the milage and no ----- you are notdoing it correct. Remember you have to turn your key all the way off , pushing the key release button. Cycle 3 times ending with on.

I just got the Malfunction Indicator Light on as well. Tried the 3 on and off and nada. Didnt do anything different then normal start up. We talking one click forward or two? System says ok. The light came on while driving. If the light is on does it always throw a code and does the parking brake need to be on?

Thanks.

3 not 4 and all the way forward without starting and back like you are going to take the key out hold one hand on the key release button so you can get the complete key cycle 3rd time leave it on. If you have a code it will come up if done right if more then one code it will have ----- then next or ---- then done.
