fuel mileage with SMARTY

Has any one seen a fuel mileage increase with the SMARTY programmers, S-67 or S-67ME ?

I posted this to another user question on why to delete. This was the main part of my response to his question. I feel this is the best information that I can provide to anyone. Since this is over a three year period and I am comparing one year to another year. This is from an excel spread sheet that I have tracked everyting from what attachemnts I have put on the truck, to how much fuel I use.

In the months of Nov 07 through Nov 08, I used 1,096 gallons for 12,706 miles. I avg 11.6 MPG at today's cost of fuel, that would be $3,179.70 US. For the time period Aug 08 (deletes done) to Aug 09, I used 912 Gallons for 13,109 miles. I avg 14.4 MPG at today's cost of fuel, that would be $2,644.10 US.
As you can see I drove more miles and used less fuel to do this. I also save on my oil changes. By changing my oil around 6,200 miles instead of the 3,200 or 3,800 miles, I use to get with out the deletes beign done.

This is summer driving, winter driving and towing a 5er combind for the year.

Jim

With the stock tires I saw as high as 20.5 (hand calc) on the highway. It has since dropped to 18ish with my 35" Toyos. Still not gonna complain about 18 though.

You don't have a S-67 or S-67ME on that 5.9 do you?

I have definitely seen an increase of 3 to 4 not towing and maybe about 1 while towing. It is a great improvement. Jim W has some great data there!

It can get 8mpg as long as the ckl stays off, no more egr problems, most of all getting a $2 to $5 thousand dollar bill from the dealer every year because something went out or sooted up an burned up.The smarty with full delets was the best thing i've done since i owned the truck. Draw back is i will be replacing the clutch soon, had to take it off level 3.

Would like to buy a "new" truck and am trying to make up my mind on a couple of possibilities. I like the 2009 I'm lookin' at, but am a bit leary of the emmision stuff and the six spd. auto.
